8-30-26 Most of baseball is routine. Most of the time it is a play that happens all the time, routine stuff. How things string together is where the excitement is. Once in a while you do get something unique and that really adds to the excitement. A no-hitter, 4 home runs by a player, someone hitting for the cycle are things that amp up the volume. 9-6-26 Back before cable television and 24 hour sports network, before the internet and social media there were limited ways to get baseball news. You had newspapers and magazines of course. You also had sports news on your local television station but that was very abreviated. The best source for televised baseball news was "This Week in Baseball". It usually ran just before the televised national "game of the week" on the national network. Affectionately called TWIB you could see things about baseball that you could not get anywhere else.
