1-12-25 Pitching has sure changed a lot over the years. The work-horse starting pitching is no more. Pitch counts rule the day. 12 man bullpens are common. Velocity rules. Pitchers commonly only have 2 strong pitches. The good ones will have 3 or maybe 4 pitches but that is rare. We don't have pitchers who depend on odd ball pitches any more. 1-19-25 Everyone is aware of the passing of Bob Uecker. I know he was a favorite of many, including myself. I even have a couple of original Bob Uecker baseball cards that I have kept since the 60's. I've posted several of his video's over the years. As Roland has pointed out his Hall of Fame induction speech is classic. A video from the MLB network honoring Ueck is below. As a specical tribure I also have his Hall of Fame speech and a couple of Miller Lite commericals. Spend a few minutes to honor the man and have a few laughs. RIP Bob Uecker.

2-9-25 We are all checking out rookies in our preparations for the upcoming FBN Draft. We all hope to draft a hidden gem. Some guys are known commodities, aka Paul Skenes. Others are not quite as pedigreed but have a great year, aka, Luis Gil. He ended up winning AL Rookie of the Year. Will you find a hidden gem like Gil this year. 2-16-25 Last week we highlighted the AL Rookie of the Year, Luis Gil. This week we will feature the NL Rookie of the Year, Paul Skenes. Skenes was the favorite for ROY going into the season and he did not disappoint. He had perhaps the best year of any pitcher in Major League Baseball. He was dominate and was a no brainer for the award. Can he keep it up. Will injuries haunt him like so many pitchers before him? Only time will tell.
